This site reports figures from official statistics in plain English. It is not financial or legal advice, and it is not your council tax bill. For your own bill, your band, discounts, exemptions, appeals or payments, contact the council that bills you or the Valuation Office Agency.

How accurate the figures are

Figures are worked out from the sources listed on the sources page and are only as complete and current as those sources. They are Band D amounts for a home with two adults and no discounts, before any reduction. We correct mistakes when we find them, but we cannot promise the site is error-free or always available.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of, or reliance on, this site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Using our work

You are welcome to quote and link to our figures and text with a credit and a link to the page. The underlying government data stays under its own licence, set out on the sources page.
